Low Voltage Lighting
Whether you are a do-it-yourselfer or a lighting professional, low voltage is typically preferred for residential use. Low voltage lighting systems are also used for show lighting applications, in addition to landscape applications, and are often used in select pendant and recessed applications as well.
The voltage from the transformer to the fixtures is slightly less efficient than the line voltage. This function makes low voltage illumination especially common in landscape applications where the underground wire can be buried.
The main benefit of low voltage lightings is that there’s only a very little risk of electrical shock, even underwater. It also has a wide selection of energy-efficient 12V fixtures to choose from. And low voltage wires can be directly buried in a shallow trench, generally without using conduit.
